WHAT IS A COUNTER-FLOW COOLING TOWER?

In a counter-flow cooling tower, the air travels from the bottom to the top of the cooling tower, in opposite direction (counter) to the water flow, which is distributed from the top down.

You can achieve optimum water re-cooling in cooling towers with our PLASDEK® cooling tower packings, which we offer in different variations. This way you get the right product for every process requirement.

With trickle and grid fills, you can clean moderately to heavily contaminated cooling water. These fills achieve their efficiency through optimum pressure drop and unique flexibility in terms of choice of dimensions. They are stable and easy to install. Since the packing is mechanically assembled from individual grids, cleaning is particularly easy. They are also impact-resistant and environmentally friendly on top of having a long service life.

PLASDEK® vertical packings are used in counter-flow cooling towers with low water quality. They are available in various models made of PP, PVC or PPHT and can be equipped with antibacterial properties or flame protection upon request.

COOLING TOWER PACKINGS WITH CROSS STRUCTURE

Film packings with a cross structure achieve an extremely remarkable cooling performance. They allow intensive mixing of the cooling water with the airflow. The cross structure technology, in combination with the specific surface area, is an ideal prerequisite for achieving good cooling. All PLASDEK® packings allow excellent heat and mass transfer and are highly corrosion-resistant due to their reinforced outer edges. In addition, the components offer good stability and load-bearing capacity, which they owe to the clever design with numerous connection points as well as the selected material thicknesses. The materials used are of high quality, making the fixtures resistant to aging.

Maximum application temperature:

The operational temperature should be measured at the inlet pipe of the system and should not exceed the maximum temperature stated above.

High temperature applications:

Fill media in high temperature in PP (up to 100°C) available on request.

Flammability:

Products in flame retardant version according to American (ASTM E84, UL 94) and European standards (DIN 4102, NF P 92-501) are available on request. National regulations on fire protection should be taken into consideration before choosing a product.
